Artificial Intelligence not good enough, yet..
There are several applications for artificial intelligence in Architectural Visualization. AI can very quickly produce realistic images based on concept sketches or descriptions. Below is a simple example of this, where AI has been used to generate the sketch, which is then used as the basis for the realistic image. AI is an excellent tool in the idea phase, where details and construction engineering are not critical.
When you're looking for something very specific, where everything has to look exactly as described, AI is not yet the right tool. However, we can use AI to highlight details in images that we have already created in 3D. This newly generated image is usually not perfect either, but we can use an image processing program to select the details we want to keep. AI is also a great source of inspiration where we can quickly test design ideas. It's an exciting time to be a designer, AI is constantly evolving and we will see more and more use of this tool in the future.
